Also, as most humidor owners know, hydrometers are likely to fail after some time, and the one installed in this humidor is easily replaceable. I was in the market for a larger humidor for a while so I ordered the 300ct unit. Packaging was great and no issues upon unboxing. Everyone has their preferences as far as seasoning but I started by just putting a 320g 65% boveda pack in the unit and let it sit for a little under 2 weeks empty. I put a Govee monitor in it and loaded it up when I hit 65% inside. My cigars all were sealed in tupperdors with boveda and I haven’t noticed any fluctuations in humidity levels since then. The included hygrometer seems to be quite accurate and has stayed within half a percentile of my Govee. It’s jam packed and humidity levels have stayed right at 65-66% with a 320 gram and 5- 60 gram boveda packs. My personal opinion is seasoning the unit like this so you’re not chasing humidity levels after wiping things down with water and having to deal with that. I didn’t need it temperature controlled due to being in my climate controlled living room so for what I need it’s awesome! Mine did not come with lights so they must’ve removed that feature but I don’t really care.
A few months into use, this humidor is really winning. Two weeks to season (with Boveda packs) and it has been holding steady since then at my usual RH%, and keeping the sticks I tend to store in ideal conditions. I love the look of front-opening humidors, but the doors tend to sag after a while due to cheaper hardware, so I use these for storage and aging, rather than for daily smokes (which are better kept in a top-open unit). Zero complaints. Looks great, performs awesome, fits wonderfully on my shelf.
